The American Psychological Association also understands the serious predicament we are in with the exposure of children and young adults and is working with the US Congress to pass legislation to protect the most vulnerable from the monetizing of our innate drive of curiosity, bias of social comparison and our fear of missing out. With success, the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act (S. 2073) passed the U.S. Senate with an overwhelming majority on July 30, 2024.
